Using a leader with braided line?

Q. Should you use a fluorocarbon leader with braided line or tie it directly to the plastic worm?

A. The plain and simple answer is yes.

You gain the strength of the braid line coupled with the invisibility of the fluorocarbon leader which to me is the best combination to give yourself the best chance of catching any fish.

The alternative of using straight braid is a gamble to me and in my eyes limits your chances to those fish that won't shy away from the highly visible line.

The only disadvantage to consider would be the extra knot you now have between you and the fish. This is an area of weakness. But if you tie the right knot correctly then it shouldn't be a problem.

Hope that helps you out bud!
