Wheelchair Accessible Bass Fishing

Q. I use a wheelchair and I'm looking for a good accessible place to fish.

Can you help?

A. Hi Edward, I've been trying to think of any areas I visit and have successfully caught bass from that would have specific accessible areas. Unfortunately the only things I can think of are probably the obvious areas that you may have already checked out which is any place with with fishing piers.

Not to say that all these are accessible but most should be able to provide a secure spot to fish from.

I would also like to mention Crappie houses although I know you specifically said bass fishing.

I found this list of area lakes and parks that could offer some bass fishing. I know I've caught some nice bass in the "pond" at Echo Park in Ft Worth so you know that they could be in any of these waters. And I've caught them at the 1st lake on the list, Benbrook.

Dropping a line right around the pier supports should produce some bass too.

Anyway Check out the list here. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/programs/gofishing/dfwfish/dfw_map.phtml

I'm still going to check around some more and keep an eye out as your question has brought something up that, unfortunately, I have not ever really thought about.

I will post in the comments if I come up with anything else. Hopefully others will chime in with their thoughts also.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help right now.
